Timothy John Smith, age 63, passed away at home on Sunday, April 20, 2025, in Saginaw, MI after a long struggle with cancer. Tim was born August 30, 1961, in Saginaw, MI, the son of Richard "Dick" Smith and Dorothy P. (Endres) Smith. Tim graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1979 and soon after moved to Reno, NV. While there he was employed by Harrah's becoming a very successful Blackjack Dealer. He returned to Saginaw in the mid 1980's and began working for the Heritage Agency, Inc., eventually purchasing the agency from his father in 1994. Tim and his business partner, Marla Gary, owned and operated the Heritage Insurance Agency, Inc. until its sale in 2021.
Tim had a special zest for life and enjoyed it fully. Tim defined true friendship, his journey included many long-time friendships he worked to maintain, new friends met on any boat or dock, and most of his customers in his insurance career. He was always welcoming and never turned down an opportunity to assist someone needing a helping hand. He will be deeply missed and cherished forever.
Tim was born to be on the water. His passion included boating, any time in a hot tub, or any activity involving being on the water. Tim and his family enjoyed many Houseboat journeys on Lake Cumberland, which drew them to a home in Somerset, KY where he could enjoy the Lake's activities. Tim loved to golf, spend time with his many furry friends, play a good card game or even a Poker machine. He was the most avid Detroit Lions fan, having been a season ticket holder for decades. Most of all, he loved spending time with Anne and his many friends.
Tim is survived by his wife Anne M. (Johnson-Felker) Smith, stepchildren Stacey A. Felker (Donovan Mills) of Saginaw, MI, Kyle G. Felker (Haley) of New Franklin, OH, grandson Jaxson Reed Felker, stepmother Susan L. Smith of Bay City, sister Lee Ann Wilson (Jeffrey) of Reno, NV, sister Kelly J. Smith of Alnmouth, England, niece Kathleen Wilson (Matt Gladding) of Phoenix, AZ, nephew Andrew Wilson (Meghan) of Sparks, NV and their children, Henley, Finn, Luna and Indigo. He was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy P. Smith, father Richard K. Smith and brother Bradley Smith.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Toni and Trish House, 4699 Eleven Mile Rd., Auburn, MI 48611. The family thanks Americans Hospice Care, especially Rachel, Nicole and Mr. Kahn.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Tim was a great uncle, so kind and funny. I have many fond memories of him, and was so sad when our paths diverged. He was a good man, and I know he will be missed by all who knew him.

Tim, What a loss this world has experienced, but heavens are rejoicing. I will miss your calls on MMR and hearing about your wonderful family that you were SO proud of. I will miss you my friend. You are inspiration. You helped teach me how to be underwriter.

I don´t know how we never met. Your sister Lee is a dear friend who we met long ago. She worked on our family farm milking cows and tending to cherry orchards. We don´t see her as often as we´d like but it´s always a blessing when we do. We´re sure you had a lot of her loving self in you too! RIP Timothy.
