Kathleen “Katie” Lou Ochs, 78, of Oshkosh, passed peacefully Friday, October 25, 2024 at Evergreen Retirement Community surrounded by her family. She was born January 20, 1946 in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Victor and Nelita (Immel) Lueck. On April 13, 1966 she married Peter Reigh Ochs in Fond du Lac. She worked at Wells Manufacturing until her retirement. Most of her days included tending to her picturesque flower beds that wrapped around her home, decorating for EVERY holiday, watching The Young and the Restless and old westerns or listening to Elvis radio while she danced around the living room. Christmas was the most magical time in her home. Not one surface was without her magic touch and she remained “Santa” for her children and grandchildren all of her life. Her favorite times were spent surrounded by her family at holidays, “girls days” baking and craft making, at the casino with her sisters or cheering on the Brewers and the Packers with her husband.

She is sadly missed by her husband, Peter; her children, Terry (Mindy) Ochs, Ed (Tracy) Ochs, and Laura (Ochs) Slagle; her grandchildren, Tyler (Araceli) Ochs, Creighton Ochs, Eric Helgeson, Andrea Ochs, Carter Ochs, and Jada Slagle; special friends, the Neste family; her siblings, Audrey Borzick, Joanie Kamphuis, Norm (Doris) Lueck, and Bob (Beth) Lueck; her brother-in law, Harry Brotherton; her sister-in law, Kay Franke; her many nieces and nephews; and many great-grand-dogs and cats; as well as her cat, Patches.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Nelita Lueck; her in-laws; Oscar “Curly” and Evangeline Ochs; her siblings, Doris Brotherton, Lois Peters, Norbert “Nubby” Lueck, Barbara Kessler, and Ronald Lueck; her brother-in laws, Carrol Ochs and Clarence “Eddie” Ochs; and her sister-in law, Evlyn “Evie” Janis.

The visitation will be held Friday, November 1, 2024 from 3:00 – 7:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home. Cremation will follow the services and private inurment will be held at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum at a later date.

Thank you to Evergreen Retirement Community, a very special thanks to Karen, Christina, Tori, Hailey and Donavan, as well as all the other caregivers who took the most exceptional care of Katie; Acera Care, Jessi, Nicole, and Jake for special attentiveness and compassion.
