It is with profound sadness that we announce Kathy's passing on June 21, 2025 after a period of failing health.
She was a 1978 graduate of Braintree High School, then went on to Brockton Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1981. Her caring and compassionate heart was shown in her 40 years as a registered nurse at Brockton Hospital.
Sister of Paul (Skip) McCormick of Braintree, Ann Young of Pembroke and Julie McCormick of Weymouth. Predeceased by her mother Mary McCormick. Loving aunt to Matthew and Jimmy McCormick, Auntie Woof Woof to great-nephew Brayden McCormick, Katherine Young-Arena and Joseph Young, in addition to her great-niece who she called Princess Ivy Arena.
Kathy said she was ready to go to heaven to see mom and her dogs. A beautiful reunion for sure!
She was a devoted dog mom to many, with Murphy being her soul dog, who will be buried with her.
Longtime friend of Susan Orlando, Susan Hiatt, Clare Foshey and Scott Slaney.
Kathy's kindness and humor will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Services will be private.
