Kathy was a devoted wife, mother, and friend. Kathy and her husband, Jim, shared 48 years of love and companionship, building a life together filled with joy and compassionate love for their family and for one another.
Kathy was known for her kind heart, contagious laugh, and a love for all people. For over 30 years, her career was dedicated to working in the Oregon public school system. She started her work in education at the Molalla School District, then moved to working with the Hillsboro School District in the mid-80's before retiring in 2015. Following her retirement, Kathy was selected to join as a member of the school board with Forest Hills Lutheran Christian School in Cornelius, Oregon. Kathy loved working with kids and their families. In her own words, "I love children, and I love watching them learn. It brings joy to my heart. I believe every child is special and a gift from God". She saw her work as a ministry unto our Lord, and she lived her faith in all she did.
Kathy found great joy and contentment in being with her family, being a wife, Mom, and "Nana". She loved music, reading, researching about her Jewish heritage, gardening, RV'ing at the Oregon Coast, and just being creative and loving in all activities of her life. Her signature saying to family, friends and acquaintances she would meet was "You are Loved". To know Kathy, you had no doubt of that love.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Jim, and their children Molly (Ryan) and James (Caitlin) along with her four grandchildren Madi, Garrett, Addy, and Eleanore.
Kathy's celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 17th, 2025, at 2:00p at Trinity Hillsboro Lutheran Church, 2194 SE Minter Bridge Road, Hillsboro, OR. Please join us as we celebrate a wonderful wife, Mom, and friend.
