Kathleen Patterson

Kathleen "Memaw" McRay Patterson, age 87, Harrodsburg, widow of J.C. Patterson, passed away on Monday, October 6, 2025 at her home in Harrodsburg. Born February 28, 1938 in McAfee, KY, she was the daughter of the late Cornell Emerson & Lillie B. McRay. She attended both McAfee & Fairview Schools, was a Cosmetologist and Owner of Hair Capers in Harrodsburg, working alongside her daughters. She enjoyed tending to her flowers, shopping and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Kathleen was a member of the Carpenter's Christian Church in Harrodsburg.
Survivors include two daughters Diedra (Tim) Springate and Tabi (Fred) Lewis both of Harrodsburg; one daughter-in-law Penny Patterson of Danville; six grandchildren Chad (Rebecca) Patterson, Dillon (Casey) Springate, Chelsea (Price) Hunt, Zac (Kristyna) Lewis, Kali (Chris Allen) Morris, and Zane (Carissa) Lewis; 15 great grandchildren, Caeden Patterson, Ryker Patterson, Ashtyn Springate, Lane Hunt, Mallory Wilson, Lochlan Lewis, Aubri Morris, Molly Wilson, Ramsey Lewis, Layken Hunt, Kyndal Patterson, Deacon & Tye Springate, Sadi Bea Lewis and soon-to-arrive Shelbi Jean Lewis; one sister Charlotte Hart and two special family members Tara Farrell and Breelyn Kathleen Farrell. Kathleen was preceded in death by two sons Kelly Douglas Patterson and Stephen Joe Patterson; two brothers C.H. "Buddy" McRay and Thomas McRay and three sisters Pansy Houston, Shirley Bailey and Barbara Lake.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Thursday, October 9, 2025 at Sims Funeral Services with Bro. Greg Warren and Bro. Jacob Bryant officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 8, 2025 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of services at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Springhill Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Chad Patterson, Caeden Patterson, Ryker Patterson, Dillon Springate, Zac Lewis, Lochlan Lewis, Zane Lewis, Chris Allen, Price Hunt and Lane Hunt.
Honorary bearers are Mary Rose Smith, Sue Terhune, Linda Green, Barbara Jo Leonard, Carolyn Horn, Larry & Sylvia Moore, Chuck & Margaret Cecil, Trish Releford, Andrew Sallee and Monty McRay.
