Visitation will be one hour prior to the time of service from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 16, 2024, at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Fairmont. Kathleen passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at her home in Fairmont. The Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.
Kathleen Kae (Tonn) Rippentrop was born on August 31, 1949, in Blue Earth, MN, the daughter of Walter and Luella (Fuchs) Tonn. Kathleen attended school in Blue Earth and graduated from Blue Earth Area High School.
On April 24, 1971, Kathleen was united in marriage to Lyle Rippentrop in Lakota, IA. Katie and Lyle made their home in Blue Earth where Katie worked at Telex for 5 years before moving to Fairmont where she worked for 3M for 36 years.
Katie was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Fairmont and took great pleasure in serving her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ by mowing the church lawn, ushering, and teaching Sunday School. Her compassion and desire to help others was evident in her membership of Kinship and opening her heart to mentor three girls, Maribell, Katie, and Rylee. Katie also kept busy being a member of Sowers Org in addition to making meals for neighbors. Her quiet time was spent working on puzzles and tending to her flowers and garden. Katie loved classic cars and looked forward to attending the "Back to the 50's" car show in the Twin Cities and driving her own classic '57 Chevy. She was a fantastic cook and enjoyed trying new recipes for family and friends.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Lyle Rippentrop of Fairmont, MN; as well as many other extended family and friends.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Luella Tonn; brother, Gary Tonn.
