Funeral Service for LaVon K. Rippentrop, age 82, of Fairmont, MN, will be 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fairmont. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Blue Earth, MN. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at the church. Those wishing to view the service may do so on the following link: www.splfairmont.org. LaVon passed away on Saturday morning, June 28, 2025, at Lakeview Methodist Health Care Center in Fairmont. Memorials are preferred to the donor's choice. The Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

LaVon Karen Ahrens (Rippentrop) was born on September 10, 1942, in Blue Earth, MN, the daughter of Edward and Joanne (Kline) Ahrens. LaVon attended kindergarten through her senior year at Blue Earth Schools, graduating in 1960. When in Junior High she met her sweetheart, Thomas Rippentrop. In September of 1960 they became engaged and were married November 26, 1961 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Blue Earth. To this union two sons were born, Terry and Troy. LaVon worked at several office jobs in Fairmont.

LaVon was an avid crafter and enjoyed making Christmas stockings and tree skirts for family and friends. She also loved to do scrapbooking and bringing memories to life on the pages of her albums. LaVon was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fairmont where she belonged to LWML, Katie Circle and later joined Clara Circle.

She is survived by her son, Troy (Amy) Rippentrop of Roberts, WI; three grandchildren, Matthew Rippentrop of UT, and Elise and Hattie Rippentrop of Roberts, WI; and other extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Joanne Ahrens; husband, Thomas Rippentrop; son, Terry Rippentrop; grandparents, Henry and Mary Ahrens and Henry and Ella Kline; sister, Judy Golder; brother-in-law, Keith Golder; several uncles, aunts, cousins and other relatives and friends.
