Kathleen "Kathy" Scheufele (née Vaughan), formerly of Duxbury, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2025 in Charleston South Carolina after a battle with Parkinson's Disease.

Born on August 25, 1948, in Mansfield, Massachusetts, Kathy grew up alongside her brothers John and James Vaughan. She later married William "Butch" Scheufele and shared over 40 years of marriage with him before his passing.

Kathy devoted much of her life to education. She began her teaching career in Mansfield later moving to with Northern Virginia and continued to inspire students after relocating with her family to Duxbury, Massachusetts. There, she worked as a substitute teacher for many years before becoming a full-time educator at Holy Family School in Rockland, Massachusetts. Her dedication to nurturing young minds left a meaningful impact on her students and colleagues alike.

In later years, Kathy found great joy working at Talbots in Duxbury-a role she often described as her favorite job. Her warmth and enthusiasm made her a beloved presence among coworkers and customers.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Jessica Ward and son-in-law Jacob Ward of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina; her grandchildren Grayson, William Bennett, and Tatum; her brothers John Vaughan and his wife Kathy of Falmouth MA; James Vaughan and his wife Karen of Mansfield MA.

Visitng hours will be held on October 15, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main Street in Kingston MA.

A funeral mass will be held on October 16, 2025, at 10:00 am at the Holy Family Church in Duxbury MA. Graveside services will follow at the Mayflower Cemetery, Duxbury.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Michael J.Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research by visiting the website https://www.michaeljfox.org/give-tribute.
