Passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on Friday, July 6, 2012 at 84 years of age.

Predeceased by her first husband James Mowat as well as her second husband Edward Fosbery, Kathryn is survived by her children: Gordon Mowat (Aveleigh), Beth Spence (Stewart) and Donald Mowat; step children: Kendal Fosbery (Robbie), Barb Fosbery and Laure Balogh (Peter); 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Kathryn is also survived by 2 sisters: Jimmie Baumert and Helen Amundrud (Howie) and 2 brothers: David Murdoch (Elva) and Dennis Murdoch (Barb) as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and other relatives.

Kathryn spent her early years in Lacombe, AB and Kelowna before moving to Port Alberni as a young teacher in 1947, where she met and married James Mowat. Following his passing in 1975 Kay later met and married her second husband Ed Fosbery in 1981. She cherished her huge extended family and was a loving and well loved wife, mother, grandma, great grandma, sister, auntie and friend. Kathryn was a woman of strong faith and a longstanding member of Knox Church. She enjoyed community events and activities, gardening, walking, travelling and all of life's simple pleasures. She will remain smiling, cheerful, positive and alive in all our hearts.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Knox Presbyterian Church, 4850 Regina St. , Port Alberni with Rev. Elizabeth Forrester officiating. Cremation has already taken place. Stories and condolences may be forwarded to the family by visiting www.chapelofmemories.ca.
