Kathryn “Kathy “Denise Jones, cherished wife, mother, daughter, grandmother and sister, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 10, 2024. She was 63 years old.
Born in Monroe, she was a daughter of Bob and Lucille Weldon and the late Don Wilmoth. Kathy graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor’s Degree and later received a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Piedmont University. She was a beloved teacher at Oglethorpe County Schools for more than 33 years. Kathy enjoyed trips to Hilton Head, South Carolina and Gatlinburg, Tennessee where she and her husband Greg often enjoyed playing cards and spending quality time with their friends, Rob and Jill Woolery and Steve and Pam Boyette. She was a member of Winterville First Baptist Church and most importantly, she adored her family and thrived on spending time with them to create special memories. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Billy Jones.
Survivors include her husband of almost 41 years, Greg Jones; two daughters, Jessica Marshall and Heather Jones (Tyler Janousek); grandchildren, Ollie and Karsyn Marshall; brother, Jeff Wilmoth (Kim); step-mother, Joyce Wilmoth; mother-in-law, Edith Jones and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be Thursday, November 14, 2024 at 4:00 pm at Lord and Stephens, East with Rev. Christian Colson officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 2:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Winterville First Baptist Church, 305 N. Church Street, Winterville, GA 30683.
