Kathryn Lorraine Pleasant Lucas lost her battle with cancer on September 17, 2024. She was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas, on October 24, 1953.
Kathy was a proud member of a military family who enjoyed living in several states and countries during her childhood. While living in Germany, she graduated from Frankfurt American High School as part of the class of 1972. Upon returning to Mississippi, Kathy graduated from Hinds Junior College. She married Marc Lucas in 1982, and had three sons.
Kathy found great joy in all her family from raising her sons to big family dinners on Sundays at her parent’s home. After 30 years of service, she retired from the State Insurance Commission. She enjoyed many hobbies, including reading, needlework, jewelry making, and shopping.
Kathy is preceded in death by her husband, Marc, and her parents, Marion and Vera Pleasant.
She leaves behind her three sons Dustin, Kevin, and Patrick Lucas and her brother Bill (Jenny) Pleasant and her sister, Dianne (Drew) Walker, along with several nieces and nephews. Her kindness and sweet spirit will be missed.
