A dedicated church member and teacher, Kathryn M. Schnierle passed peacefully surrounded by family early Tuesday morning on January 11, 2022, at the age of 75 after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
Kathryn completed her Bachelor's degree in Education from Malone College and her Master's in Library and Information Science from Xavier University. She took pride in the work she did with Cincinnati Public School as a reading specialist. She loved being with young people and in addition to her work at school, she was dedicated to the youth of her church and traveled each year to the Lutheran camp in North Carolina as well as working in other children's ministries at Good Shephard.
She was an avid fan of golf both watching tournaments on television as well as playing the game. In addition, she loved her Cincinnati Bengals and Reds and cheered them on. She was delighted that the Bengals are going to the play-offs this year.
She loved evenings with friends, traveling, singing in the church choir and being part of the bell choir. She was a member of the Tri T organization, a national organization that provides camp experiences for young girls who would not normally be able to attend a summer camp, and her sorority Beta Sigma Phi. She also was active in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America's women's group and served on the National Board as well as being elected President of the Ohio Chapter.
Kathryn is lovingly remembered and will be missed by her brother, John (Sue) Schnierle, and nieces and nephews, Nancy (Nigel) Islam, Jeff (Emily) Schnierle, Sarah (Dave) Swisher – Riley, Tony (Kristie) Meyers, as well as several great nieces and nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Helen Schnierle, her sister, Jane Meyers, and her niece, Karen Schnierle.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 18th 11:00 am. with Pastor Pat Badkey presiding, at Good Shephard Lutheran Church 7701 Kenwood Road Kenwood, OH 45236 with calling hours prior to the service at 10 am. at the church. Those attending the service in person are ask to wear mask.
