Kathryn L. Smith, 86 of Mount Vernon, passed away on January 10, 2025 at her residence. She was born on March 26, 1938 to Ralph B. and Ruth M. (Fowler) Smith in Mount Vernon, OH.
Kathryn enjoyed gardening, sewing, traveling and watching OSU football when they are winning. She was a graduate of Gambier High School and then went on to study at The Ohio State University. She was a dental Hygienist after graduation. Kathryn then went on to work for Procter & Gamble in Cincinnati in their research and development department. After retiring she moved back to Mount Vernon and helped her brother George on the family farm.
Kathryn is survived by a brother-in-law Thomas Williams; many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Ralph Smith, George Smith, Sandra Williams and Barbara Butler. Sister-in-law Anna Smith and a brother-in-law John Butler.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution can be made in Kathryn's memory to Hopewell United Methodist Church, 7051 Beckholt Road, Mount Vernon, OH 43050.
A graveside service will be Friday, January 17, 2025 at 11:00am in Hopewell Cemetery, Hopewell Road Mount Vernon, OH 43050.
