Kathy Marie Lindstrom, a devoted wife, beloved mother and grandmother, treasured aunt, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2025. Her unwavering faith, love, and joyful spirit touched all who had the privilege to know her.
Born on October 12, 1952, in Jacksonville, Florida, Kathy was the daughter of Eva Mae Masters and James Smith. From a young age, Kathy’s strong sense of faith and family would guide her throughout her life.
Kathy began her education at Assumption Catholic School and continued on to Bishop Kenny High School. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of North Florida and went on to dedicate her life to teaching and inspiring her students.
An advocate for Catholic education, Kathy believed in the values and formation that the Catholic school system provides. She taught at several Catholic schools, including Holy Rosary, Assumption Catholic, and Sacred Heart. Her students and colleagues alike remember her as a compassionate, talented educator whose influence reached far beyond the classroom.
Kathy met and married the love of her life, Peter C. Lindstrom, and together they shared 48 beautiful years of marriage filled with deep love, laughter, and partnership. Together they built a beautiful life for their two children, Kristina (Neil) and Michael (Ann).
Kathy’s five grandchildren—Marin, Davis, Phoebe, Emme, and Ava—were the light of her life. Her happiest moments were spent laughing, playing, painting and creating with them. Her love for them was truly boundless.
Kathy shared a lifelong, unbreakable bond with her siblings—Sharon, Denzel, and Karen—who were not only family but her closest friends. Their connection was filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support, and remained a source of strength and joy in her life.
Kathy was also a loving aunt to her many nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart. She loved them deeply, always offering a listening ear, a good laugh and a big hug!
Kathy’s legacy is one of faith, love and family. She will be missed, but remembered always for her joyful heart, infectious laughter, and fun-loving spirit. May she rest in eternal peace, held in the loving arms of God.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 15th, 2025 at 1pm. Following the service, the family will proceed to Oaklawn Cemetery for interment.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association https://www.alz.org/ in Kathy’s memory, supporting the ongoing fight to end the disease.
