Kathy Ann Smith, 68, of Center Point, Texas, passed peacefully from this life on October 26, 2025, in Kerrville. Born on June 26, 1957, in Illinois, Kathy moved to Center Point at the age of 13, where she planted deep roots and remained until her passing.
She proudly attended Center Point High School. Kathy married the love of her life, Danny Smith, on June 16, 1973, in Center Point. Together, they built a beautiful life over 52 years of marriage, filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion.
Kathy looked forward every July to helping with the bake sale that supported the Center Point Fireman's BBQ, this was a tradition she cherished. She also had a love of collecting wind chimes and knick-knacks, and she took great joy in receiving and keeping photos of family and friends. Her beloved cat, Keke, was always close by.
Her greatest joy in life was her family, especially her grandsons, and she treasured every moment spent with them. She was also known for lovingly pestering her husband, Danny, keeping the spark alive in their long and happy marriage.
Over the years, Kathy held a variety of jobs and proudly contributed to her community through her work at James Avery, Mesa Bronze, the Kerr County Sheriff's Department, Mini Mart, and the Kerrville VA Hospital.
Kathy was preceded in death by her daughter, Keri Lynn Smith; her brother, Steve Kraft; and her cousin and best friend, MaryEllen Penwell.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Danny Smith of Center Point; her mother, Grace Lackey of Illinois; her daughter, Tammy Aguirre and husband Rene of Center Point; and her four cherished grandsons: Bryson, Gabriel, Christopher, and Justin, all of Center Point. Kathy also leaves behind a wide circle of family and friends whom she loved deeply and who will miss her dearly.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Center Point Fire Department or a charity of your choice.
