Claudena K. "Kay" Barnett, 86, of Rushville, MO, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2025, at the Lansing Care and Rehab, Lansing, KS.
The family will be having a private family burial of cremains at a later date at Sunset Memory Garden's, Atchison, KS. Memorials are suggested to help defray funeral costs and may be sent in care of the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral who is handling the arrangements. Online condolences may be left at www.beckerdyer.com.
Kay was born July 27, 1938, in Buchanan County, MO, the daughter of Claude and Frieda (Gillenwater) Glasscock. She graduated from Troy High School and attended St Joseph Junior College. Kay was a secretary for Dr. Tayiem for twenty years. She was a member of the Methodist Church, Atchison, KS, where served as a Sunday School Teacher. Kay enjoyed painting, sketching, photography and baking. She was a world traveler having visited England, Ireland, Japan and Thailand.
Kay married Phillip Barnett on April 11, 1959, in Muscotah, KS. He preceded her on July 28, 1994. Survivors include two sons Jason and Lori Barnett, Rushville, MO, Brian and Jenise Barnett, Topeka, KS, son in law Jimmy Crouch, brother, Donnie Glasscock, four sisters, Dorlis Day, Bonnie Eberhart, Linda Seran, Debbie Sowers, nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren.
She was also preceded by her parents, a daughter, Michelle Elaine Crouch, a brother Larry Dean Glasscock and two sisters, Sandra Crockett and Donna Glasscock.
