Kay Frances Lord Lovett Roberts of St Johns, Florida was received into the presence of the Lord on August 11, 2025. Kay was born on Feb 23, 1943 in Trenton (Wilcox) FL. She was preceded in death by her parents Lester and Pauline (Everett) Lord, her first husband Ronald Blue Lovett (14 years) and her second husband Joseph (Joe) Calvin Roberts (42 years). She is survived by her brother Ronnie (Bonnie) Lord. She is also survived by her children Christopher (Leslie) Roberts, Rhonda Lovett, Kevin (Nancy) Roberts, Karen (Reggie) Thompson and Leslie (Brian) Cornett. She was a proud grandmother to 14 grandchildren and 1 great grandson and she dearly loved her many nieces, nephews and friends. Kay graduated from Trenton High School and attended St Johns River Community College, Palatka, FL. She was active in the First Baptist Church of Hastings, FL where she made her home for 46 years, Bethel Baptist Church, Trenton, FL for 10 years and most recently Fruit Cove Baptist Church, Fruit Cove, FL following her move to the Fruit Cove area. She enjoyed singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School as well as decorating the church for the holidays and weddings. Kay worked in the family business, Lovett's Grocery in Hastings, FL for many years. She worked for the St Johns County School system for 16 years and enjoyed the years she spent as a homemaker and raising her children. Kay was a devoted wife and mother, always available to her children and she supported all of their academic and sports activities. She enjoyed reading, listening to gospel music, camping, traveling and flower arrangement. She loved spending time in the NC mountains and walking on the beach. Her guide to life was that of her great faith. She served as a local and area coordinator for Nature Coast Christmas Child supporting the collection of thousands of shoeboxes for Christmas Child, she enjoyed yearly missions trips to support children and families in Rogersville, TN and she served as president of the Women's Auxiliary of the Gideons International. Her homegoing celebration will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday August 30, 2025 at Hastings First Baptist Church, 109 North Main Street Hastings, FL 32145 with pastor Rick Lawrence officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 prior to the service.
