Kayla Dawn Barker, 45, of Fort Collins, Colorado passed away on August 5th, 2025.

Kayla was born on December 14th, 1979, to Kenneth and Sheridan Barker. She was the oldest of two children and loved to tease her giant of a little brother David.

Kayla graduated from Poudre High School early in 1997 and went on to attend UNC for her bachelor's degree in education as well as nursing.

If you knew Kayla, you knew she had a large heart. Whether it was animals or people in need she was always there ready to help. She was always up for a good adventure, oh the stories her family and friends could tell, and she fully lived her life no matter what boundaries or obstacles were in her way. Kayla enjoyed riding her horses, cooking for the masses, reading a good book out of her extensive library, and playing bingo. Kayla will be greatly missed as she took a piece of each of our hearts when she went home.

Kayla is survived by her three children Kaylana Woods (Andrew & Hazel), Colten and Ryeanne; Her father Kenneth Barker (Cindi); Her brother David Barker (Flip, Brayden, & Trinton). Waiting to welcome Kayla in heaven were her grandparents Ralph and Jean Nichols, Gene and Pat Barker, and her mother Sheri Barker

A celebration of life will be held August 23rd, 2025, at the American Legion Post 4 in Fort Collins, Colorado. You may send flowers directly to the family home or to Vessey Funeral Service in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Donations in Kayla's name may be made to a local animal shelter/rescue of your choice.
