Keith McCray

Deacon Keith McCray, 60, of Jesup, Ga. passed away on Thursday, March 06, 2025 at Harborview Health Systems in Jesup, Ga. following an extended illness. He was born on January 07, 1965 to the late, Sammy McCray, Sr. and Lennie Mae Ellis-McCray in Blackshear, Ga. Keith was educated in the public school system of Wayne County and graduated in the Class of 1984. He was a member of the Wayne County Football Team and often participated in the game of baseball. He loved mechanic work, if he had a hobby, that would have been it. Keith was a faithful Deacon and member of Eternal Harvest Holiness Church under the leadership of Pastor Earl Thomas and Minister Sharon McCray. He was a kind and loving person that would give you his last and will forever be remembered as such.
Preceding him in death was both parents, Sammy and Lennie Mae McCray, Sr.; his wife, Melissa Pinkney-McCray; his stepdaughter, Tawanna Pinkney; his sisters, Pastor Shirley Ann (Richard) Key, Pastor Ethel Lee Wallace and Shirley Ruth McCray; a brother, Willie Oliver; an aunt, Flora Mae Ellis; a nephew, Bryan Wallace; and a niece, Tasha McCray.
Those left to cherish his memory: his son, Keith T. McCray, Jesup, Ga.; his grandchildren, Keilani Merrit, Keith T. McCray (KT), Ke'Shawn Jones; raised as his sons, Ja'Quavious Pinkney and Jamarion Williams; his sisters, Roberta McCray, Jesup, Ga., Mary (Leroy) Bennett, Jacqueline (Joe) Sutton, Carolyn Stewart and Sharon Oliver, all of Waycross, Ga.; his brothers, Sammy (Rhonda) McCray, Atlanta, Ga., Kenneth (Min. Sharon) McCray, Jack (Barbara) McCray and Eddie McCray, all of Jesup, Ga., Robert Oliver, Lewis Oliver and Willie Clark, all of Waycross, Ga.; a brother-in-law, Wendell Wallace, Jesup, Ga.; a special friend, Ken McGill, Jesup, Ga.; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.
There will not be a wake on Friday, March 14, 2025,
Remains will lie in state one hour prior to services (from 1-2 pm) on Saturday, March 15, 2025.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025 @ 2:00 p.m. at New Life Ministries, 512 Walker Street, Jesup, Ga. 31546.
Interment in Sunset Oaks Memorial Gardens, 10680 Sunset Blvd., Jesup, Ga. 31545
Repast will be held at New Life Ministries social hall following interment.
