Keith Daniel Perkins, beloved son of Logan Perkins and Hannah Whittington, passed away peacefully in his parents' arms on Sunday, April 7, 2024, surrounded by family and medical staff of Christus Highland Medical Center in Shreveport, LA. Keith was born prematurely at 26 weeks on March 28, weighing 1lb 12oz., thirty days into his mother's hospital stay following a medical emergency.
During his cherished ten days of life, he made an indelible mark on everyone who knew him and followed his story. Keith experienced holding mommy's hand every morning and each night before bed, listening to her read stories to him, and was comforted by his parents' touch and voices throughout his ten-day battle. Logan and Hannah never left their strong baby boy's side.
Keith is survived by his loving parents, Charles Logan Perkins and Hannah Olivia Whittington; paternal grandparents, Russell "Rusty" and Elizabeth "Sukie" Perkins; maternal grandparents, Jason and Jennifer Whittington, and Cody and Kacey Appel; paternal great-grandmother, Barbara Garner; as well as numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. Keith was the first great-grandchild (maternal) of Kenneth Dan (Donna) Driskill, Donna (Bruce) Simmons, and Glenda "Ginga" Long.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Osborn Funeral Home, 3631 Southern Ave. in Shreveport, LA with Reverend Sione Tu'uta officiating. The family will receive visitors following the service at the home of Logan's parents, Rusty and Sukie Perkins, at 606 Ockley Dr. in Shreveport, LA. Parking is available at First Baptist Church.
The family would like to acknowledge Dr. Surinder Tank, Dr. Kerry Tynes, Megan Rambo, Shahla Momenpour, Madison Mouser, and the rest of the staff of Christus Highland Medical Center for their incredible work and dedication, sleepless nights, and compassion in their fight to save Keith's life.
Hannah sees the face of her precious baby boy in the clouds and the flowers, and so gifts of flowers are welcomed. The family is eternally grateful for donations of platelets and whole blood made to your local blood bank in Keith's honor.
"There is no footprint too small that it cannot leave an imprint on this world." -unknown
