Kenneth Kenny L. Austin, age 60 of Laingsburg passed away Sunday, August 7, 2022, at his home. A memorial service will be held from 2:00 -4:00 PM on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at Victor Township Hall, 6843 East Alward Road, Laingsburg, Michigan 48848.
Kenny was born April 5, 1962, in Lansing, Michigan to Jerry Lee and Glenda V. (Thurman) Austin. He was a 1980 graduate of Laingsburg High School and has been a resident of Laingsburg for most of his life. He married Tina Marie Grove on October 14, 1995, in Laingsburg. She preceded him in death on July 2, 2015. He retired from General Motors following 30 years of service. He enjoyed being outdoors; hunting and enjoying nature. He loved to spend most of his free time in his garage building hit and miss engines and was gifted in repair and assembly. He could fix just about anything and loved building rockets with friends and family, especially his grandson, Ash.
Kenny is survived by his daughter; Sherri (Sean Elliott) Galvan, the apple of his eye; grandson, Ash Elliott, his father; Jerry Austin, his brother; Ron Austin, his step-brother; Mike (Terry) Tyler, his step-sister; Brenda Tyler, his brother-in-law; Tony (Kristina) Grove, his sisters-in-law; Melody (Tim) Arnst, Cindy Grove, Tina Grove, Kandy (Ron) Stein, several nieces and nephews including T.J. Arnst and Andrea Magers who held a special place in his heart. He was preceded in death by his mother; Glenda, his wife; Tina, his stepmother; Joanne, his brothers-in-law: Arnold Grove, Jr. and Rex Grove, his mothers-in-law; Phyllis Grove and Kay Grove and his stepbrothers; Walter and Wayne Cartwright.
Memorials are suggested to an educational fund for his grandson Ash and made payable to the family.
