Born July 15, 1934 in Monroe, Kenny was the son of the late Ira and Ruth (Winkleman) Bleyaert. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1952 where he played the trombone in the school band. On June 27th 1953 he married Betty J. Skidmore in Monroe. Together they raised three children. Sadly, Betty preceded Kenny in death on July 26, 1996.
Kenny was employed for 32 years by Ace Paper Company in Monroe as a Plant Scheduler, retiring in 1996.
Kenny was an active member of Monroe Alliance Church where he served as an Elder and Song Director for over 40 years. He had a fondness for music and enjoyed league golfing and bowling.
Kenny is survived by his children, Michael (Lynda) Bleyaert, Sherry Jones, and Douglas (Trena) Bleyaert, all of Monroe; five grandchildren: Amy (Chad) Phillips, Lisa (Adam) Pursell, Rebecca Bleyaert, Jonah Bleyaert, and Olivia Bleyaert; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife Betty, Kenny was also preceded in death by a brother, Ira "Bud" Bleyaert, and a sister, Betty Bleyaert.
Family and friends may visit from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 19th at Bacarella Funeral Home where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Rev. Mark Blake, pastor of Monroe Alliance Church will officiate. A luncheon will immediately follow at the church. Kenny will be privately laid to rest next to his wife at Carleton Cemetery.
