Kenneth Cole Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by All County Funeral Home & Crematory - Treasure Coast Chapel on Jan. 14, 2022.
Ken Cole of Jupiter, FL passed away on January 7, 2022, at the age of 82 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born and raised in Kentucky and was a life-long Wildcats fan. Ken attended East Tennessee State University, where he played basketball and football. After graduating he moved to Bunnell, Florida where he began his 50-year teaching and coaching career. Two years later, he traveled to Jupiter to interview for a position at Jupiter High School. He often shared his memory of the first time he crossed the US1 bridge and his awe of the crystal blue water in the inlet. It was then he decided that Jupiter was the place for him. He took the job and never left. Ken taught and coached at both Jupiter High School and Middle School for 30 years.
After retiring from the public school system, he enjoyed the last 18 years of his teaching career at The Benjamin School where he continued to coach. Some of his fondest memories of coaching basketball, baseball, football, and golf were leading those teams to District, Regional, Sectional, and State Finals. After 50 years in education, Ken could seldom go out in public without running into one of his former students. After his retirement, Ken spent his days enjoying time with friends and family, snook fishing off of his dock, and tending to his beloved garden and many mango trees.
Ken is survived by his wife Jeri of 53 years, two children and their spouses, Joe and Kerryn Cole, Cheryl and Jeff Hamblin; and grandchildren, Daniel, Delaney, Patrick, Caroline, Steven, and AJ.
A Celebration of Life will be held at North Palm Beach Country Club, 951 US Highway 1, North Palm Beach, on Friday, January 14, 2022, from 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm.
