Kenneth Ray George

Kenneth Ray George passed away on Tuesday, September 9th, 2025, at the age of 61. He was born on December 12th, 1963, in Klondike, Texas to Barbara Vest and Kenneth Ed George.

He attended Denison High School, graduating in 1982. From there, he went on to earn his associate's degree at Grayson College in business administration.

He married his wife Tonya (Smith) George of 41 years on January 7, 1984. In May of 1988, they welcomed their daughter Dana who was his pride and joy. Dana married her husband Cody in 2018, and blessed him with his next greatest joys, Parker and Hayes.

Kenneth was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed spending time at the deer lease, on the lake, or on the coast with his family and friends. His passion for the outdoors was shown enthusiastically when he (possibly) became more excited about Dana's first buck than her bachelor's from Texas A&M.

Kenneth worked for Atmos Energy for 40 years and was planning for retirement in December. He began working there as a meter reader, eventually working his way up to his most recent position as a measurement control specialist.

Kenneth is survived by his wife of 41 years, Tonya George, daughter Dana and husband Cody Waddle, brother Jeff George, brother Joey Vest and wife Linette, sister Carmen and husband Sean Frazier, and brother Larry George and wife Misty, uncle Jim Batton and aunts Barbara Nichols and Jo Anna Kanui, grandsons Parker and Hayes Waddle, in-laws Werdna and Vicki Lowell, Donnie and Deborah Mullens, and many nieces and nephews, and many great friends that he looked at as family.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Vest, father, Kenneth Ed George, and grandmother, Marjorie Cain.

Celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, September 12, 2025 at Fisher Funeral Home Chapel with a gathering for friends and family at 1:00 pm.
