Kenneth Leon Gurley, Caney, Kansas passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at home. Funeral services are planned for 2:00 p.m. Saturday June 29, 2024 at Chautauqua Baptist Church with burial to follow in Sunny Side Cemetery. The family will greet visitors on Friday, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Potts Chapel of Caney. Memorials may be made to Chautauqa Baptist Church or Harry Hynes Hospice
Kenneth was born August 20, 1940 to R.E. and Florence (Riley) Gurley in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Kenny attended and graduated from College High School in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Kenney married Sarah Hey on June 20, 1965 Following his education Kenny was employed at Doenges Ford for many years until he found employment with Phillips Petroleum Company where he retired after 15 years of service. Kenny enjoyed raising cattle working on the farm and in his shop. Kenny is a long-time active member of Chautauqua Baptist Church.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Eugene Gurley. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Sarah Gurley of the home. One daughter Gina Gurley-Anderson and husband Todd Anderson, Bartlesville, OK; two grandchildren, Ashton Anderson and fiancé, Adrian Guzman Wichita, KS; Carly and husband Michael Blackshear, Sand Springs, OK; To leave a special message for the family please visit www.pottsfunerlhome.com.
