Kenny left this world peacefully in the early hours of November 6, 2025, in the comfort of his home surrounded by loved ones.

Born in Highland Park, Michigan, Kenny was a longtime resident of Lansing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth and Wilbur Torres; his brother, Richard Torres; and a son he loved as his own, Braxtyn Swagart.

Kenny was described as effortlessly cool — a man whose kindness, humor, and music made the world brighter. He played in a local band called Sniper, alongside friends he considered family, filling countless nights with rhythm, laughter, and connection.

He spent time in Clare, Michigan, where he worked as a postal carrier — a job he often called his favorite, thanks to the camaraderie and joy he shared with his coworkers. Before that, he dedicated 23 years to Delphi Glass, where he built lasting friendships and a reputation for reliability, warmth, and integrity.

Kenny shared an extraordinary bond with his wife and soulmate, Christie. Together they were Team Torres — a love story built on laughter, strength, and unshakable devotion. Their partnership was the kind that inspires others to believe in forever.

He spent the final years of his life in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Christie’s hometown, so she could be close to her family — who had also become his for the past 15 years.

Though his time in this world was cut far too short, his life was nothing less than epic. Kenny was a testament to courage, compassion, and love in its truest form.

He is survived by his beloved wife Christie Torres, his sister-in-law Katie Fullmer, his nephew Ayden Fullmer, and his in-laws Gary and Robin Meyer — who will proudly carry on his legacy of a life well lived.

Kenny will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who were lucky enough to call him family or friend.

Details regarding a life honoring ceremony will be shared at a future time.
