Kenneth Allen "Kenny" Lesnowski, born August 21st, 1960, passed away July 5th, 2025 here at his home, Jesus People USA, 920 W. Wilson Ave., Chicago IL. Born to Stanley and Norah Lesnowski, he was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Debra Lyn (Koons) Lesnowski, and his sister-in-law Cheryl (Terwall) Koons. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Lynn and Joyce Sawyer, brothers-in-law, Wayne Koons, John Koons, Michael Lamar, his sister-in-law, Pauline (Lorenz) Koons, his nieces Eleanor Koons and Ava Lorenz, his nephew, Zachary Lorenze, and family members Jim Terwall, Karen Terwall, Trisha Gosser, James Gosser, and Leni Bitter. He is also survived by his family in Christ, Katherine and Victor Williams, Joel Williams, Russell Williams, Kat Dusk, and Michael Garcia. He was preceded in death by his brother in Christ, Rick Williams.
Kenny was born in Plattsburg, NY, graduated from high school there, and joined the US Navy in 1978 until his discharge in 1980. In 1983, Kenny joined an inner-city mission in Chicago IL, Jesus People USA, where he remained a member until his passing. A devoted husband, he married Debra in 1993 and remained with her until her passing in 2016. Though he had no children of his own, Kenny loved his nieces and nephews, and he enjoyed visiting and participating in activities with them. He was a true friend and soldier in Christ, working in ministries to prisoners and hospital patients. Always generous with his time and funds, he contributed to a number of charities, notably World Vision, Compassion International, The Wounded Warrior Project, and Cornerstone Community Outreach.
Known as a bright and shining light, Kenny continued to give and witness to the love of Christ until his dying day. Many who visited and lived at the ministry remember his kindness and spiritual support, and his presence will be missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
