Kenneth Mathis, born on September 19, 1959, to Pine E. Vann and Sie Mathis. He was preceded in death by his father, Sie, Son Daniel, two sisters, Brenda and Shirley Vann, nephew Robert L. Twiggs Jr.: Maternal Grandfather and Grandmother, Boone and Alethia Taylor: Step-Son Jason Rizzuto and Stepfather Willie Dority. Kenneth Mathis received his education in the St Louis Public Schools System. Kenneth also serviced two years in the United States Army. He was always surrounded by his family and friends, he was loved and well-liked by many. Kenneth loved cooking, especially cooking his famous Liver, onion and gravy. He was a sports fanatic, (Baseball and Football), you couldn't tear him away from the TV while watching his Cowboy movies. However, his most favorite thing to do was set back relax listening to Jazz. At an early age Kenneth confessed with his mouth that Jesus is Lord and believed in his heart that God raised him from the dead, so he would be saved. He was Baptized at Mt Zion MBC in the City of St Louis. Kenneth left the church, but as he lay in his hospital bed, he once again called on his savor Jesus Christ asking for forgiveness of his current and past sins, giving his life back to Jesus Christ.
Kenneth's greatest joy came from his family. He leaves to cherish his memories: his life partner of 45 years, Debbie Rizzuto; mother, Pine E. Vann (St. Louis); three sons, Adonis P. Mathis of Arkansas, Timothy M. Griffin, Darius K. Mathis, and one daughter, Brenda N. Mathis, all of St. Louis; one sister, Thelma J. Tate (Bruce) (Illinois); one brother, Johnny Mitchell (Arkansas) and special brother-in-law, Robert L. Twiggs Sr. (Grand Rapids, Michigan). He also leaves grandchildren, Demetrius (Arkansas), Nakayla and Mecca Griffin, Aubrey L. and Jason S. Mathis, all of St. Louis, Peyton E. Twiggs and Paige M. Twiggs (Reno, Nevada); two nieces, Vanessa R. Twiggs (Arizona) and Shantel (Pig) Twiggs (Reno, Nevada); three nephews/brother, Dushune L. (Kellee) Vann (Kentucky), Stephen L. Twiggs Sr. and Korey N. Twiggs Sr. (St. Louis); six aunts, Maggie Williams, Martha Taylor, Hannah Cone, and Theresa Taylor (St. Louis), Jearldine Johnson (Texas), Delois Spear (Huntsville, Alabama); one uncle, Lee (Rena) Taylor (Huntsville, Alabama); nine great-nephews, six great-nieces, and a host of other great-great-nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
