A good friend, good neighbor, good co-worker, good father, good husband. "Good" is the theme that defined Kenny Medkeff.
As a neighbor, Kenny was always there to lend a hand, share some advice or propose the right solution to a problem.
As a friend, Kenny was great listener, sincerely interested and always ready to offer an unbiased opinion.
As a co-worker, Kenny had high standards and was always ready to do more than his share.
As a father, Kenny loved Holly dearly and she was at the front and center of his thought every day of his life. The years since her passing did nothing to diminish his vivid memories of the beautiful, engaging daughter the world lost way too soon.
As a husband, Kenny established new standards as a dutiful, loyal mate. Keeping Nancy happy was his #1 goal and he did so every day. Nancy´s high standards kept Kenny busy, very busy: fixing, updating & improving. Doing everything but painting. Nancy wouldn´t let Kenny near a paint brush. Even Kenny´s talents had their limits.
Kenny dealt with hard times with dignity, resolve & a determination to make every new day better without ever forgetting the past.
For me, Kenny was always there, especially when I needed some advice on a repair or a construction project. He encouraged me to complete difficult tasks independently and made sure I knew he was on standby to lend a hand.
The last few years as Kenny´s body weakened, his mind stayed sharp. Every interaction with Kenny was a blessing. He maintained a positive attitude when most others would have moved towards giving up. Kenny truly loved life.
His concern for others and his dedication to service allowed Kenny to enjoy even the most challenging times.
The lessons Kenny taught his friends and the advice he dispensed will stay with us all the days of our lives.
