Kenneth George Merriam, age 79, of Paw Paw, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2022 at his home with his loving family at his side.
Ken was a lifelong area resident, born in Kalamazoo on August 3, 1943, the son of Vernon Merriam and Leeta Mae (Crosby) Merriam. He was a devoted family man. Spending time with his children and grandchildren was the highlight of Ken's life. He especially loved being around the little ones and always made everyone feel welcome that visited their home. when discussing hobbies, his loving wife Martha would be at the top of the list. Ken also enjoyed some woodworking in his free time. After 30 years of dedicated service, Ken retired from General Motors in Kalamazoo. He then went to work for Tapper Chevrolet for several more years.
On April 17, 1965, Ken was united in marriage to Martha Ann (Slayton) Merriam, who preceded in death January 27, 2021.
He is survived by his two daughters, Melissa "Missy" (Jim) Holroyd and Kendra (Ken) Kyle; seven grandchildren, Lindy, Grace (Zay), Genna, Halie, Shane, Gavin and Avery; six great-grandchildren, Ella, Azariah, Elijah, Ezra, Levi and Finleigh, along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Ken was preceded in death by his 14 siblings.
A life celebration of Ken's life will be held at the Kalamazoo Covenant Church, 5708 East Main Street, Kalamazoo, Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 a.m. Immediately following service there will be a luncheon in the church hall.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Heart Association.

Ken was a great uncle and a great brother, years back he donated his stem cells to his sister Donna unfortunately it worked 33 days and they lost the battle. He was very giving and kind to everyone, he will be missed.
