Dover – Kenneth E. Moore, 92, of Dover died peacefully surrounded by family on June 19, 2024. He was born on February 3, 1932, at the Hayes Hospital in Dover, NH, the son of the late Edward and Kathryn (Smith) Moore. He grew up in Durham and Madbury.
Ken was a graduate of Dover High School class of 1951. He met his true love Patricia 'Pat' Pomeroy during the summer of 1950, they married on September 20,1952. Ken and Pat started their lives together 'on the Avenue' in Dover and moved to their forever home in 1957. Together on Spruce Lane they raised five children and made many friends over the years.
Throughout his life, Ken worked as a land surveyor, both for the State of New Hampshire as a surveyor for the Design Division and as owner and operator of KEM Land Survey Inc. He was a retired member of the New Hampshire Land Surveyors Association. Ken retired from the State of New Hampshire in 1991 as a survey crew chief after working on many of NH's new and upgraded roadways. He continued in private practice with son Russell for many years after retirement.
Ken cherished time with his family. He loved to travel with his wife Pat, they treasured many trips to Disney and Disney cruises with their children and grandchildren, bus trips and tours with Clara Mae and friends. They often traveled the world to see their daughter Sue. He enjoyed spending time as a band parent when his children were in band at Dover High, where he was known as 'Dad' to many. Ken loved playing cribbage with son David. Other games such as Yahtzee, Phase 10 and Uno with were some of his favorites to play, especially on the porch. He cherished time with family celebrating holidays, birthdays and any special occasion. He enjoyed time at camp with family and friends. In more recent years he enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren, watching the Patriots, afternoons at the beach and camp, an ice cream in York and lunches in Sanford with daughter Lori and Kathi & Tom. He always enjoyed a granddog at his feet to keep him company.
Ken was so proud of his son Michael's achievements and was devastated by his early death on June 27, 2000.
Along with his parents, Ken is preceded in death by his loving wife, Patricia (June 8, 2012); son, Michael, daughter-in-law, Kathleen, and brother, Jon Moore.
