Kenneth Carl Nordvall, 96, of Warrensburg, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg, Missouri. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Road, Kansas City, MO 64138. A visitation will be from 9:00 – 10:00 AM at the funeral home prior to the service. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery in Kansas City, Missouri.
Kenneth was born on October 17, 1926 in Duluth, Minnesota to Carl Olaf and Edith Marie (Ortegren) Nordvall. He grew up and graduated from Central High School in Duluth. On May 20, 1944, he enlisted in the United States Army and served during World War II. After he served his country, he attended Duluth Theological Seminary and received a Masters of Divinity and proceeded to receive a Masters in Counseling. On July 30, 1959, he was united in marriage to Phyllis Ann Strickland in Clearwater, Florida. To this union, they had two daughters, Leigh Ann and Annette. For 64 years, Kenneth was a Presbyterian minister with his first church in Clearwater, Florida and the remaining years in the Midwest. He enjoyed fishing, playing chess, reading, camping, and enjoyed sharing the gospel and his love for Jesus Christ.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Irene Porvaznik and Evelyn Jopke. He is survived by his wife Ann; daughters, Leigh Ann Alley and her husband Jack, and Annette Nordvall; and grandchildren, Sara Stoutenborough and Kyle Stoutenborough.
