Ken Pomerleau passed away Monday, February 27", at the Galeon nursing home at the age of 81. He was born June 4, 1941, to Gilbert and Bernice (Patnode) Pomerleau in Minneapolis, Mn. Graduated from DeLaSalle High School in 1959 and the Academy of Accountancy after a two-year program. Married Pat Belski in 1964. After moving to several states with his accounting job, they purchased Deluxe Oil in Osakis in 1974 where they worked until retirement.
Volunteered his time to the community by serving on the Osakis Fire Department for 22 years, including as chief and assistant chief, was an EMT with the ambulance service for 13 years, and 8 years on the Osakis School Board.
His hobbies included golf, hunting and fishing. Health issues after retirement prevented travelling, but earlier he enjoyed an Alaska cruise, a Hawaii vacation, plus winter breaks in Palm Desert CA for 5 years.
Survived by wife Pat, sons Mike (Norma), Mark and Steve (Carrie), brother AI (Renee), sister-in-law Cathy, grandchildren Jessica (Mike) and Branden (Molly), great grandchildren Travis, Annabelle, and Hunter, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by parents and brother, Dennis.
Celebration of Life Wednesday March 8, from 5-8 at the Osakis Community Center.
