Kenneth Gene Scruggs Sr., 86, formerly of Boiling Springs, S.C. passed away March 14, 2025. He was the son of the late William Carl and Blondine Pettit Scruggs. Kenneth retired from the U.S. Navy in June 1981 where he served in the Attack Squadron Eighty-Three. He was the husband of the late Janie Boiter Scruggs of 57 years and was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Scruggs is survived by three daughters, Karen Lynn Scruggs of Moore, SC, Kathryn Leigh Young and Kimberly Diane Scruggs both of Liberty, SC; a son, Kenneth Gene Scruggs, Jr. and daughter in law, Helen of Woodruff, SC; grandsons, Andrew Scruggs, Jacob Young (Avril), Tyler Stinnett, Caden Blackwell; two great granddaughters, Lilly Grace Scruggs and Anaya Barnhart; a great grandson, Laylon Scruggs; a special daughter of his heart, Yuatondia Scott; and a special friend, Susan Peace.
Visitation will be held 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel, 235 N. Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of The J.F. Floyd Mortuary following the visitation with Rev. Kris Kilgore officiating. Burial will follow in Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, 790 Hwy. 417, Moore, SC 29369. with full military honors.
