Kenneth Edward "Ken" Seil, age 78, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, August 10, 2023, surround by family.
He was born on June 4, 1945, in the Town of Scott, son of the late Henry and Elsie (Kuhn) Seil. Ken attended Beechwood Elementary School and Waldo High School.
Ken worked on the family farm with his siblings through school, then Barton Washing Machine, and Kohler Company, retiring after 40 years in the engine plant.
He enjoyed lots of hobbies while working at Kohler, like farming his hobby farm where he raised beef, pigs, chickens, and turkeys to feed his family and friends. He also enjoyed gardening, tinkering in the shop on anything with an engine in it (except Fords because they never need fixing). No matter how busy he was, the work always stopped on Sundays to watch the NASCAR race. He was a very generous, caring man with a heart of gold that was always there for friends and family. He loved spending time with his grandkids, watching them play, and teaching them to do stuff only grandpas get away with.
After retirement he enjoyed life even more. Friends and family enjoyed stopping at "the shop" to tell stories of the "good ole days" and of course, stay hydrated.
Ken is survived by: His children: Rachel, Diane, and Andy (Amy) Seil; Grandchildren: Ashleigh Mahloch, Elijah Wagner, Kelsey and Waylon Seil; Sisters, Mae (James) Giese and Caroline (Robert) Hiers; Brothers: Henry, Francis (Kathleen), and Gerald (Linda) Seil; As well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by: His parents; Siblings: Harold, John, and Joseph Seil, Ramona Stommel, Evelyn (John) Goelzer; and Half-sister, Dorothy (Edward) Behr.
A celebration of Ken's life will be held at a later date.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Meadow View Health Services and Sharon Richardson Hospice for the amazing care given to Ken during his last weeks.
