Edward Lowell "Ed" Flannery, 85, formally of Beloit, passed away on October 3, 2025, at The Waterford of Plymouth Assisted Living in Plymouth, WI.
Ed was born on October 5, 1939, in Owsley County, KY, son of the late Earl and Cliffie (Robinson) Flannery. Ed spent most of his younger years in rural Fayette County (Milton) Indiana. He graduated from Milton High School in 1958 where he played basketball and was active in FFA. Ed served in the United States Army and later graduated from Indiana Business College in Ft. Wayne, IN.
In his younger years, he worked at Montgomery Ward and Belden Mfg. in Richmond, IN.
He met the love of his life at Frisch's Drive-in in Richmond, IN, and on April 15th, 1967, he married Barbara Eimermann at St Luke's Methodist Church in Sheboygan, WI. Barb and Ed moved to Beloit to begin their life together as this was the half-way point between both families.
In March of 1979, Barb and Ed started their own glass business "Flannery's Glass and MIrror" where they worked hand in hand for the next 40 years, retiring in 2019. Ed also worked with National Glass in Beloit for many years. They were members of the Redeemer Evangelical Covenant Church and loved their church family dearly.
In the early years, they enjoyed traveling and some of their favorite destinations were Hawaii, California, visiting Disney World. They enjoyed Friday night fish frys and a good old fashion. Ed also loved listening to Johnny Cash, fishing, hunting, and was a longtime member of the Beloit Rifle Club.
Having no children themselves, he cherished all the time spent with his special niece Pamela and her family and loved them like her own, he especially loved to be a jokester with all of them.
Ed is survived by: His sister, Alma Jane (Ron) Padgett of New Castle, IN; Goddaughter/niece, Pamela (Ryan) Lutze of Kiel, WI; Great Nieces: Paige (Jauger), Payton, Paris and Presley; Great-great Niece, Sophie; Sisters-in-law, Sandra (Anthony) Skrepenski of Marion, WI and Doreen Flannery of Connersville, IN. He is also survived by niece Jeanine (Randy) Snyder and nephew Rob Flannery and their families, other family and friends including their best friends, Phil and Eva Pickett of Beloit.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barb; Parents, Lowell and Cliffie Flannery; In-laws, William and Alice (Wieting) Eimermann; Brother, Robert Flannery; and Niece, Janet Riley.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Allay Hospice and the entire staff at The Waterford in Plymouth for all of their love and support.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday (October 8, 2025) at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. Visitation will take place from 10:00-11:00am with a prayer service to follow at 11:00am.
