Kenneth Henry Seuferer was born the second son of William and Emma Seuferer on September 18 th, 1934. He and his five brothers were raised on the family farm south of Melcher. After graduating from Melcher High School in 1953, Kenneth joined the Air Force and served 4 years, spending most of his time in Duluth, MN as a radio technician. He was honorably discharged, then served an additional eight years part time in the Air National Guard. His time in the military earned many lifelong friendships and memories. He was honored for his military service by Quilts of Valor in June 2024.
In 1961 he married Phyllis June Davis. They raised four children together on a dairy farm south of Melcher. Kenneth and Phyllis later divorced.
On June 17 th 1994, Kenneth was united in marriage to Lenore Ann Frueh. Together they enjoyed family, friends, gardening, puzzles, and country music. Kenneth had many interests, including expert mushroom hunter, experienced angler, woodworker and tinkerer. He enjoyed building urns from the walnut trees harvested from his farm. He loved to be in the timber and could tell you the names of all the trees, flowers and weeds, but you had to ask because he was a man of few words. In his younger years, he and his brothers would spend Sunday afternoons in the fall, hunting squirrels and rabbits so they could feed their kids "chicken".
After retiring from dairy farming in 1998, he tried his hand at organic vegetable farming and raising goats. He and Lenore always had a large garden and a small orchard whose harvest was used to make juice and wine, along with pies, which were his favorite sweet treat.
Kenneth was an honest, dependable man and faithful Catholic. He had a witty sense of humor, was committed to his family, close friends and farm. Kenneth was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Church in Melcher Dallas, including a stint on the parish council. He also served a term on the Lucas County Fair Board. Kenneth always enjoyed attending auctions and picking up treasures, but his favorite days were when the kids would come to visit.
Kenneth was looking forward to spring when he could sit on his porch in the sunshine. Spring came early for Kenneth as he now enjoys the perpetual radiance of the Son.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Lenore (Frueh) Seuferer; children: Kevin (Donna) Seuferer, Kay Seuferer, Kim (Todd) Flynn, and Kelly (Natasha) Seuferer; step-children: Mary Jo (Rick) Kuhl, Cathy Gross, Rick Anderson, Theresa (Ron) Nine, David Anderson, Donnie Anderson, Julie Akkerman, and Chris Anderson; brothers: Harold (Vera) Seuferer, Jerry Seuferer, Duane (Elaine) Seuferer, David (Sondra) Seuferer; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Kenneth was proceeded in death by his parents, William and Emma (Metz) Seuferer; infant brother, Robert Seuferer; brother, Paul Seuferer; sister-in-law Diane Seuferer; granddaughter, Melissa Viers; and step-son, Mike Anderson.
