Kenneth Wayne Shepherd, age 82, of Fitzgerald, formerly of Ohio, passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at his home with his wife of 57 years, Mandy (Moreland) Shepherd by his side.
He was born on June 10, 1942 to the late Joseph and Amanda (Prichard) Shepherd. He was a graduate of Ellet High School and worked as a maintenance man with American Blanching for 17 years. He was a man of many trades and talents- aside from maintenance work; he was also a mechanic and carpenter. He could fix any car and took great pride in the house he rebuilt. Aside from work- he could be found spending time with his family, especially being "papa" to his greatest joy- his grandson.
Survivors include the love of his life- Hazel (Mandy) Shepherd, son- Kevin Shepherd, daughter- Sabrina Shepherd, his grandson- Ryan Shepherd, and many nieces and nephews.
He was a good hearted man who was loved by all and who will be missed deeply.

His ability to just figure out what was broke and how to fix it always amazed me. Dug out one of the pictures from many years ago in West Virginia. Never forget he made me carry a bucket of concrete and he carried the spud bar. He found this little tree along the creek on the side on the mountain. He said, this is where we are going to get water for the camp. I looked at him kind of silly. I played along. And as he supervised my slamming the spud bar under the tree, I began to see the stream that he knew was there. Hmmm. We cut some PVC pipe, used concrete to seal it up around the base of the creek under the tree. ran a small water line from there, and had water at the camp. I will remember that and have shared this same story with so many ppl. Just one of the many adventures I shared with him. I wish I could have had many more adventures with him. God Bless my friend. Cant wait to see you again.
