Kenneth Arlie Tyler, 81, of Ocala, FL and formerly of Milanville died on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, the former Cynthia Fay Kirtack. The couple married on February 14, 2003.
Born on February 25, 1944 in Callicoon, NY, he was the son of the late Kenneth Avery Tyler and Eva Jane Edsall. Ken was a US Army veteran who served in Germany during the Vietnam Era. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing baseball and pitched in the Dairymens League.
Ken was a retired truck driver working for several businesses over the years. When his children were younger, he enjoyed coaching the youth sports programs and was a Cub Scout leader. A history buff, he enjoyed working at Ft. Delaware telling stories. He was also a proud member of Sons of the American Revolution. His father peaked his interest in bluegrass music. He enjoyed listening to his brother, "Taterbug" and his band, "Nobody's Band." An antique car fanatic, he was a member of the Ocala Street Cruisers Car Club and the Twilight Cruisers in Ocala, FL. Ken enjoyed "tinkering" and was known to be able to fix anything.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Diane Ridge and husband Michael of Beachwood, NJ; sons, Kenneth Tyler Jr. and wife Amy of Toms River, NJ and Ronald Tyler of Bayville, NJ; step-daughters, Lisa Beaupre and husband Francois of CT, Marcy Kirtack and Stacy Bonner and husband Brendan all of NY; his sister, Nancy Nieratko and husband Vincent of Forest City; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Edwin "Taterbug" Tyler and Gary "Buffalo Bill" Tyler.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 23rd, at Hessling Murray Funeral Home, 428 Main St. Honesdale at 1 pm. Friends may visit on Saturday, 11 until the time of serivce. Following cremation, private interment will be in Milanville Cemetery.
