Kenneth C. Witt

Kenneth C. Witt, 78, of Summit Twp., passed away Monday October 13, 2025. He was born in Erie on August 13, 1947 a son of the late Joseph and Helen Sienkiewicz Witt.
Ken grew up in Erie, attended St. Stans and graduated from Cathedral Prep. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He attended Gannon University briefly prior to following his passion for medicine to the St. Vincent School of Nursing. After graduation Ken worked at St. Vincent Health Center and ultimately retired from Orthopedic Surgeons Inc. after a 40+ year career.
In addition to his passion for nursing, Ken enjoyed bowling, golf and making stained glass. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and loved making people laugh. Something he did his entire life all the way up until the end.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Witt.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret "Maggie" Finegan Witt; two sons, his favorite Steven Witt (Janeen) of Seattle, WA and Christopher Witt (Erin) of Philadelphia; one daughter, Jennifer O'Hara (Mike) of Pittsburgh; two stepchildren, Benjamin Fischer (Niki) of MN and Ellen Fischer of North East; 10 grandchildren, Vince, Maya, Charles, Rory, Colin, Brodie, Finegan, Winnie, Charli, and Owen.
Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., on Saturday October 25th from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 1 p.m. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Ken's family would like to give special thanks to Family Hospice of Erie Hospice staff, Brenna, Savannah, Danielle, Ireasha and James for their loving care and compassion shown to Ken.
