Kenny Lane Orndoff, 74, of Birmingham, IA passed away on Friday, July 26, 2024, at his home near Birmingham, Iowa. As were Kenny's wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation, with the family present, will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at Cranston Family Funeral Home in Keosauqua, IA from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. A memorial service will begin at 5:00 p.m. with Pastor Danny Cary officiating. Memorial contributions may be made in Kenny's honor to the family. Friends may leave online condolences at www.cranstonfamilyfuneralhome.com.
Kenny Lane Orndoff was born on March 15, 1950, in Rock Island, IL to Richard and Louise (McCarty) Orndoff. He graduated from high school in Davenport, IA with the class of 1968. After graduation, he began working in the parts department at a car dealership where he met the love of his life, Janice Morris. They married on June 28, 1969, and had two children: Robert and Jessica. After they moved to Southeast Iowa, he worked a variety of jobs including farmhand, factory work, feed store manager, and Captain Clean. He retired from Dexter Laundry in 2009 after 21 years. Kenny had spent the summers of his youth on his grandparent's farm which developed his passion for farming. Throughout his life, he always had a hand in farming by owning his own land or working to help out other farmers. Kenny loved to go fishing, as well as bird and deer hunting. His pride and joy was always his grandchildren.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Deborah Jeys.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Janice Orndoff of Birmingham, IA; two children: Robert (Jennifer) Orndoff of Birmingham, IA and Jessica Burnham of Burlington, IA; seven grandsons: John, Logan, Dylan, Hunter (Emma-Louise Duckling), Lane, Greyson, and Remington; three great grandchildren: Sofia-Lilly, Cayde, and Winnie-Mei, as well as many extended family and friends.
