Kenneth "Kenny" Dean Stevenson, age 35, of Martinsville, left this world on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, after a motor vehicle accident six days prior. He was born in Indianapolis on July 23, 1990, to Drew William and Debora Dawn (Heacox) Stevenson. Rambunctious as a child, Kenny's temper earned him the nickname, "Steamy". Graduating with the class of 2009 from Eminence High School, Kenny played baseball, ran cross country, and played clarinet in the band. After graduation, he proudly enlisted in the United States Navy, dedicating 4 years of service to his country. Upon discharge, Kenny worked at various jobs and traveled across the country to places like Michigan, Oregan, and Kansas. Known for his spontaneous side, he and his buddies occasionally packed their bags and headed to Florida on any given Friday, just to spend a few hours at the beach. Finally settling in, he secured employment with GetGo, working his way up from assistant manager in Plainfield and Avon, to managing his own store on the east side of Indianapolis. A man of many interests, Kenny was musically inclined, playing the slapbox for the Clint Zimmerman band in various bars. He also was a crew member for the stock car racing team, Dirt Ball Racing, always on the move to find new passions. He adored kids, all types of music, and outdoor activities, including hunting, fishing, kayaking and hiking. Goofy at heart, he was known to share dad jokes at the drop of a hat. Caring, loving, and generous, Kenny would go above and beyond to help anyone in need, even if it meant he would shortfall himself. He loved all animals, big and small, and spent a lot of time helping on several farms throughout the years. Kenny was one to enjoy the spotlight, absolutely loving attention, and he often played the fool just to get a good belly laugh out of those around him. Tightly connected to his twin brother, Walter, the two talked on the phone daily, and Kenny usually had a sixth sense if something was bothering his brother. While Kenny left this earthly world all too soon, he humbly donated life to those in need of his organs, graciously and selflessly giving until the end. At the hospital, more than 200 people were present for his honor walk, a testament to how much he was truly loved. Gone but never forgotten, he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Kenny was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Dorothy (Ledgerwood) Stevenson. He leaves behind his loving parents, Drew and Debbie Stevenson of Martinsville; siblings, Caleb Stevenson (Lindsay) of Indianapolis, Eli Stevenson (Megan) of Lincoln, NE, Daniel Stevenson (Laura) of Kingsland, Ga, twin brother, Walter Stevenson (Angela Marie) of Indianapolis, Patricia Hinshaw of KS, and Skylar and Addison Stevenson both of Martinsville; grandparents, Larry and Nancy Heacox of Martinsville, and Leland Stevenson of Center Point; uncles, Larry Heacox II (Lisa) of Indianapolis, Jeff Heacox of Beech Grove, Scott Stevenson (Anita) of Plainfield, and Ashley Stevenson (Lisa) of Dayton, IN; along with too many cousins to count. Funeral and Cremation Arrangements have been entrusted to Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel in Monrovia. Attendees are encouraged to dress casually, and visitation will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, from 10:00am until a Celebration of Life Service that will start promptly at 1:00pm. Terry Pepple will officiate, and cremation will follow services.
