Kent Blethen

Kent Blethen, age 59 years, of Manomet, died Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at St. Anne's Hospital in Fall River, after being stricken suddenly. He was the son of the late Clifford and Myrna (Hadaway)) Blethen, and the longtime companion of Maryjane Tsiakalis. Born and raised in Plymouth, he was a graduate of Plymouth – Carver High School, class of 1983. Kent worked as a corrections officer for the Plymouth County Jail until his retirement. He enjoyed spending his time in the outdoors, and encouraged others to enjoy it too. He loved all animals, especially his "Dude". He loved to hunt turkey and deer, and had a passion for metal detecting or "treasure hunting". He would go to all lengths to reunite people with jewelry or other artifacts that he found. Kent was a member of the Massachusetts Treasure Hunters Association. Beyond all his hobbies, his greatest joy were his children, and when he became a grandfather.
Besides his companion Maryjane, he will be forever missed by his children, Daniel Blethen and his partner Julie of Kingston, and his daughter Julie Blethen and her partner Matthew of Middleboro, his granddaughter Adley, and his aunt Donna Bunce. He was the brother of the late Dale Blethen, and the former husband of Carolyn Barber.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, October 11, 2024, in the CARTMELL-DAVIS LIFE CELEBRATION FUNERAL HOME, 619 State Road, Plymouth (MANOMET) from 4:00PM – 7:00PM.
