Kerri Lewis, age 73, passed away suddenly on June 3, 2025, in
Cedar City, Utah. She was born on October 10, 1951, in Pasadena, California, to Merlo Adele Perry and Robert Ace Cass.
Kerri was beloved by her family and friends. Those who were fortunate enough to know her saw her as kind, thoughtful, loving, and loyal. She was extremely creative and turned every project into an artistic masterpiece, from home decorating and gardening to cooking to graphic and web design. Everything Kerri did was thoughtfully done and crafted so that her love and passion for life were infused in her projects, gifts to others, and her work.
Animals were a big part of Kerri's life. She loved all animals, but had a special fondness for dogs and horses, and gave much of her time, money, blood, sweat, and tears to animal rescue. She volunteered with several rescue organizations throughout her life, gave to animal charities, and personally rescued many horses, dogs, and cats. At one time, Kerri had 8 rescue dogs, and she cared for each one of them for their lifespan.
Kerri was optimistic and always looked on the bright side of things, finding glimmers of joy and hope in every situation. She was a fantastic listener and interested in everyone's story and life, glad to support anyone in need of compassion. She could remember things in incredible detail, including tidbits about people's lives that mattered to them. She was the best trivia player of all time. Kerri had a brilliant sense of humor and laughed easily.
One of the people most important to Kerri was her dear husband, Bobby, who left us in 2017. She talked about him every single day, and honored his memory by talking about him with anyone she knew, and keeping him close to her heart. She spoke hopefully about being reunited with him, and it is her family's hope that they are together again. No two people loved each other more than Kerri and Bobby, and they had a magical love that could not be broken by death.
Kerri was an amazing entrepreneur and businesswoman. She was first a graphic and web designer, and later became certified as a coach and grief counselor. After losing Bobby, she wanted to help others through the grief and loss process and was skilled and compassionate in supporting clients. On the side, she was always helping friends and businesses with all of their graphic design needs and web services. She also worked for Red Rover Retreat in Cedar City and was an integral part of their team.
Kerri was deeply loved, respected, and cherished by her daughter, Sunny. An only child, Sunny looked up to her mom, and they had thousands of laughs, tears, and hugs shared over the years. Kerri was an exceptional mother and grandmother. She had a special relationship with each of her grandsons, whom she was so proud of. Her family has many wonderful memories with her.
Walking into Kerri's home feels like a warm hug, and undoubtedly, she would offer a hot cup of coffee and something delicious she had cooked. Her home was her favorite place to be, and she loved having people stop by for a visit or come over for dinner. Her annual 4th of July celebrations were filled with delicious food she spent days preparing. Kerri's primary values of serving others, listening and being present for people, being honest and loyal, and being compassionate towards everyone were evident in her life. She touched the lives of many people, and her family only wishes she could be here to see the outpouring of love and tears for her.
Kerri is irreplaceable and will be terribly missed. The world was a better place with her in it, and a bright, shiny star burned out on June 3rd. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby, her parents, Merlo and Robert Cass. She leaves behind her daughter, Sunny, son-in-law, Don, her three loving and devoted grandsons, Sam, Jake, and Noah, her adored great-granddaughter, Scarlett, two beloved sisters-in-law, Eileen and Karen, her brother, Bobby, sister, Colleen, and niece, Rachel. She also leaves behind many dear friends, including Sunny's father, Ken, and many local dear friends and neighbors who loved her. She also leaves behind her precious dog, Lulu, her faithful companion, and her new sweet dog, Maggie. She leaves a hole in our hearts that we will feel throughout our remaining days. Though the pain of missing her will remain, so will the love and gratitude felt at having been fortunate enough to be a part of her life.
We invite anyone who loved Kerri to share their memories about her, whether they be funny or serious. Condolences and memories can be shared at
