Kerry Leighton Bartholomew, age 73 of Mendon, died Tuesday, October 3, 2023 near his home. Kerry was born in Marceline, Missouri on June 6, 1950 to Wayne and Darlene (Fry) Bartholomew. He married Deborah Sue Price on June 3, 1973 and they recently celebrated their 50th anniversary.
Kerry was a rural letter carrier out of Keytesville for 40 years and farmed. He was a member of the Keytesville First Baptist Church, Keytesville FFA Alumni, and Mount Pleasant Cemetery Board. He loved working on his family farm where he spent many hours in the sheep barn, checking cows and horses, going to grandchildren's sporting and school events, and coon and coyote hunting. He never knew a stranger and his favorite thing was to be with his wife, children and especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Deborah of the home, children, Shawn and Mary Bartholomew of Keytesville, Todd Sr. and Jennifer Batholomew of Mendon, and Amanda and Clinton Payne of Stewartsville, grandchildren, Sara Bartholomew of Salisbury, Austin and Clay Bartholomew of Keytesville, Todd II and Jacob Bartholomew of Mendon and River Payne of Stewartsville. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Junior.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Friday, October 6, 2023 at Delaney Funeral Home in Marceline with burial in the Bartholomew Family Farm Cemetery, rural Mendon. Visitation will be held from 4-7PM Thursday, October 5 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Keytesville FFA Alumni and mailed to Delaney Funeral Home 1720 N.
