Laura Jean Favrow, age 66, of Marceline, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2025.

She was born on August 4, 1958, in Shawnee, Kansas, to Glen Thurston and Rose (Fox) Thurston. A longtime resident of Marceline, Laura was known for her vibrant spirit, love of family, and generous heart.

Laura worked for many years at Walmart, where her warm demeanor and hardworking nature left a lasting impression on coworkers and customers alike.

She had a passion for gardening and took pride in decorating her yard with color and care. Laura enjoyed swimming, horseback riding, and spending time at the casino. She loves listening to music, preparing meals for loved ones, and was especially known for her exceptional cooking. Time spent with her grandchildren brought her the greatest joy, and her home was often the heart of family gatherings. She was also a proud member of the Eagles in Marceline.

Laura is survived by her three children: Rose Thomas (Dave) of Kimberling City, MO; Shawn Peel (Kim) of Belton, MO; and Danielle Cochran (Wesley, Sr.) of Marceline, MO; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and four sisters.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one grandson-Wesley Cochran, Jr.-and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at 11 am at the Delaney Funeral Home in Marceline, MO. Visitation will be Wednesday morning from 10 to 11 am at the funeral home. Laura will be laid to rest at Mt. Washington Cemetery in Kansas City, Missouri. Memorials are suggested to the Linn County Humane Society.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and love her.
