Kevin Lee Abbott, 62, passed away on November 7, 2025. He was born on February 25, 1963 to Floyd and Shirley (Rogers) Abbott.
Kevin was preceded in passing by his mother, Shirley Abbott;
He is survived by his wife, Deirdre Abbott of 45 years; children, Danielle (Justin) Smilowski, and Devin Abbott; three grandchildren, Abbott Smilowski, Juselle Smilowski, and Lindee Smilowski; father, Floyd (Helen Groesbeck) Abbott; brother, Keith (Maria) Abbott.
Kevin spent 45 years working at the Market House, where he built lasting friendships and was known for his dedication and sense of humor. Outside of work he loved spending time outdoors, especially camping and rock hounding up north with Deirdre. Kevin and Deirdre were high school sweethearts who were young and built a lifetime of memories together. Above all, Kevin's greatest joy came from his family. His wife, children and grandchildren, meant the world to him and he spent every opportunity with them, making them laugh with his good-natured jokes and easy-going spirit. He loved spending time with them. A true car enthusiast, Kevin had a passion for attending car shows, collecting cars, as well as collecting Hot wheels. He was a devoted Detroit Tigers fan. He loved fishing year-round whether casting a line in the summer or ice fishing in the winter. Winter was always welcome with Kevin, as he enjoyed watching the snow pile up and snowmobiling. He was also an animal lover, avid moral mushroom hunter and bled John Deere green. Kevin was a man of strength, he fought long and hard against cancer and will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but remembered fondly for his humor, warmth, and love for life's adventure.
To honor Kevin's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a celebration of life at a future date. Please visit www.hamptonfuneralhomes.com to sign the guestbook and/or send a condolence to the family.
