Kevin Connell was born on April 21, 1962, in Oswego, NY. He spent his childhood in New Hartford being the oldest of 3 kids to parents Glenda and James Connell.
After high school, Kevin attended SUNY Polytechnic Institute where he received his master's degree studying Computer Engineering. While in college he visited Old Forge, NY and went to Tote's Tea House, where he met his wife, Kathy.
Kevin and Kathy moved to Monroe, NY where Kevin worked for TOPCON developing software for ophthalmologists. While down there they had their first child Katie before moving back up to Old Forge where they had their son Jimmy.
Kevin worked at the Town of Webb school as the System Admin for 11 years, but if you ask his kids what his job was, he was a "computer nerd." You could find Kevin at all his kids sporting events; his favorite being keeping stats at basketball games, calculating percentages letting his kids know if they were having a good game.
Kevin loved spending summertime on the lake. As a child his family would visit Kentucky Lake. As an adult his family spent it on Lake Champlain at their camp. He loved summer and warm weather and was looking forward to spending the whole winter season this year in Florida.
Kevin, aka Kevdog, loved spending his morning reading "nerd news." He knew everything going on in the space/computer world. If you tried arguing with him on these topics, he would win. Kevin also prided himself on seeing every Star Wars movie on opening night at midnight.
Kevin was a proud parent who will be greatly missed. He was predeceased by his father James, mother Glenda, and sister Amy. He is survived by his wife Kathy, daughter Katie, son Jimmy, and brother John. Look out for more information on a celebration of life happening this fall.
