Kevin Joseph Cox, 54, passed away on August 12, 2025 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Hartford City on March 20, 1972 to Donald Joseph Cox and Phyllis Darlene (Schoonover) Cox-Clenin. His dad passed away December 14, 2003.
He married Lisa Michelle (Elliott) on March 30, 1995. He was willing to argue that the wedding date was the 31st of March, but according to Lisa, they just celebrated both days.
Kevin had a passion for collecting semi truck models and coins. Riding his Harley brought him endless joy. Known for his playful teasing, Kevin always enjoyed making others laugh and sharing a good joke.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Lisa M. Cox of Hartford City; daughter, Stephanie M. (husband, Matt) Purvis of Hartford City; son, Andrew W. Cox (companion, Carrie Conner) of Hartford City; grandchildren, E.J. Friel-Purvis, Damen Purvis, Calliope Purvis, Mia Cox, Bastian Purvis and Alexis Conner; mom, Phyllis D. Cox-Clenin of Gladstone, MO; sister, Wendy Cox of Goshen; several nieces and nephews.
He is also preceded in death by his brother, Jeffery Allen Cox.
Kevin will be cremated and a Celebration of Life service will be at 6 PM Thursday, August 28, 2025 at Keplinger Funeral Home with memorial visitation from 4 PM-6PM Thursday, August 28, 2025.
