Kevin M. Decker, aka Marc Tyme, age 57, of Republic, Mo, earned his wings on Saturday, August 19, 2023. He was born November 15, 1965 in Independence, Mo to Roy Lee and Frances Decker.
Kevin married Amy Decker on February 11, 1984. They shared two children together. Kevin joined the military at a young age serving two years in the US Army at Fort Rucker Alabama and four years as a US Marine spending time in Japan, the Philippines, and El Toro California. After his service, Kevin taught the family to play and they spend many years traveling and playing music together. (Southern Drawl Family Bluegrass)
In addition to playing music, Kevin enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, building and driving remote control cars and boats, playing video games, and tinkering around with many self-taught hobbies.
Kevin's memory will be carried in the hearts of his loving family and many friends he met throughout his lifetime.
Kevin is survived by his wife of 39 years, Amy Decker of Republic; son Donovan (Jasmine) Decker of Hanford,m CA; daughter Valerie (David) Clark of Republic; 7 grandchildren Landon, Lorelie, Ethan, Theo, and Ellie Decker, Sophia Reed, and Finley Clark; 5 brothers and 2 sisters as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Kevin was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and one granddaughter, Leilani Decker; and many other cherished friends and relatives.
"A Day At The Lake" celebration will begin at 12:00 p.m. at the US Army Corps of Engineers Park, MO-254, Hermitage, MO, Lakeside, Over Look Road, Pavilion #2 on September 17, 2023. A Military Honors Service will be performed at 2:00 p.m. Bring your favorite lakeside dish and memories of Kevin to share with his family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family is suggesting donations be made to DAV, K9s for Warriors, or Fisher House in honor of Kevin's devotion to his country and our Veterans.
